Korean Deep Fried Seaweed Spring Rolls (Gimmari, 김말이 튀김) are a simple version of Japchae (Korean glass noodles) stuffed in a seaweed sheet. Once the seaweed sheet is rolled up, it is coated with frying batter then deep fried.

Just like how you can easily spot street food like tteokbokki, corn dogs, fishcake soups and more yummy street food at the street vendors in Korea, it is difficult to miss out on the Gimmari! They are also sold in frozen form in Korean grocery stores too.

Spicy Fried Seaweed Roll (Gimmari) carries a hint of spiciness (different from the usual ones sold in the market) while maintaining its crunchiness on the outside and chewy bounciness on the inside — While they are great to eat on their own, they work as a perfect flavour combination when mixed together with tteokbokki as well!

This is in fact how they are usually served at the snack bars and street vendors in Korea since tteokbokki complements so well as a dipping sauce for these spring rolls!

Hop over to purchase Miro Restaurant Soup Tteokbokki for that perfect flavour combination!

    Spicy Fried Seaweed Roll

It is a convenient item. However, it is not spicy and it would be good to indicate the size of 1 packet, so that we will not buy too much.
